Despite a relatively brief career (he first came to official communication as a sideman at age 29 in 1955, formally launched a solo move rapidly at 33 in 1960, and was dead at 40 in 1967), saxophonist John Coltrane was in the heart of the most important, and chiefly polemical, figures in jazz. It seems confounding that his dot of greatest nimbleness was so compendious, not only since he recorded prolifically, nevertheless also for, taking advantage of his reputation, the chronicle companies that recorded him being of the cl~s who a sideman in the 1950s of the same kind with a common thing reissued...
